Welcome to your morning rant about petty irritants that nobody really wants to hear about.
On my commute, there’s two sets of lights that are very close to each other. They are also very badly syncronized. When the first one goes green, you need to be generous with the throttle or you won’t make the next before it’s red. I don’t like being branded as that guy who has to race from every light, so as it looked like the light wasn’t quite ready to change I slacked off a little. Result: red. So, I’d jumped off faster than everyone else and had nothing to show for it... I just looked like a massive idiot who races from red to red.
Moral: fuck what other people think. Do what you know works.

I could (should?) start a series of these.

“ Moral: fuck what other people think. Do what you know works .” Works for me, been doing that for years and have no plans for stopping it now!

Reaction time is crucial. You are doing fine. Races are won or lost at the starting line.
